I’ve started writing again, at a furious pace too. I hinted at having had an idea for a story a while back on these very pages and it’s been growing in my head since and yesterday I began the modern equivalent of pen to paper.

The problem I find with writing is that after a good couple of hours of it in the evening, it’s impossible to switch my mind off and go to sleep so I had to turn on the idiot box just to at least slow down my thoughts. Instead I found a show about little people and some very little people that chose to be fascinating and yet I still slept well. Like a log, in fact, until I woke up without explanation at half past five and couldn’t get “Such Great Heights” out of my head. Even now that I’m awake and have been for a couple of hours. Though I was able to get back to sleep I swear every dream revolved around either little people or that song.

At least the weather is in a cheerier mood today, it meant I was able to slide the back door open and let some air in while I sat and had breakfast. It’s nice, feeling that 7am air makes waking up easier and it’s still nice and quiet where I am so it’s like a gradual introduction to the day.

It is also Wednesday, which means two things: half way through the week and only one more day between me and Departure Day once again. So it’s all good right now, perhaps it’s time to work.

And, because I’m such a caring and thoughtful person here’s the song that was stuck in my head:

Such Great Heights – The Postal Service

If you like it, as you should, buy the album – Give Up – it’s a work of greatness. A few covers:

Such Great Heights – Iron & Wine; the great one from the Garden State soundtrack

Such Great Heights – Rilo Kiley

Such Great Heights – Ben Folds
